Emergency response units search the crash site of an American Airlines plane on the Potomac River after a crash while on approach to Reagan National Airport on Jan. 30, 2025 in Arlington, Va. The American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kan., collided midair with a military Black Hawk helicopter.

Authorities believe there were no survivors in the accident, which happened as a regional passenger jet was attempting to land Wednesday night at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
